THE WOMBATS - "Lose the creep" available on cd single only. Digging Records 91991-1003-2. Released March 2002.

TRACK LISTING: Lose the creep, Kindness, Take me down.

This limited edition single is a perfect introduction to the next wave of Wombat songwriting. Lose the creep takes the listener on a rollicking punky-pop roller-coaster joyride replete with all the thrills: machine gun snare drum rolls, driving bass, crunchy guitars, an explosive, hook-filled guitar solo and the signiture Wombat twist of the lyrics. Get on your pogo and ride!

Kindness, with it's bass-heavy funk-rock solid groove, draws the listener in with it's hypnotic and body quaking sensations. Heavy slabs of guitar chords and barebones solid drumming hold down the fort while melody lines and dreamy 3-part harmonies float over the top.

Take me down puts the glam back in the pop. Desperate lyrics pepper this beautifully arranged gem of a song. Clean guitars working side-by-side with hammond organ give way willingly to a wall of crunchy power-chords and of course...that signature Wombat ear-catching chorus. This one's got "alternative hit" written all over it.

$7.00 per CD. (send check or money order to Digging Records. Allow 2 weeks for delivery).

THE WOMBATS - "Everything up to now..." available on compact disc only. Digging Records 91991-1002-2. Release date: June 12, 2001.

TRACK LISTING: My my, Wrong girl, Bitter today-gone tomorrow, Falling, Excitable, Man about town, Not my kind of fun, Dedicated bachelor, Nothing's fine, Roll away the stone, Spacewalk, Margaret in the morning, At my expense, Hurdle in my brain, I'm in control, Sexy world.

The aptly titled debut album from The Wombats, "Everything up to now...," is a compilation of material recorded over the course of the past five years. The songs bristle with catchy melodies, upbeat tempos, killer three-part harmonies and clever, insightful lyrics. Each song reads like a short story about life, love, loss, expectations and disappointment; written with just the right amount of sarcasm and tongue–in-cheekness to keep you smiling. There is a consistency to the songwriting, yet each track possesses its' own distinct Wombat flavor. This is a true rock & roll album with an emphasis on "the song"- with universal appeal for a large segment of music buyers. After one listen, you'll realize that the music stems from the classic-60's school of rock funneled through one man's vision as a present day songwriter.

THIS IS NO RETRO-REHASH ALBUM – this is modern rock & roll with great pop sensibilities!

$12.00 per cd. Send check or money order to Digging Records (price includes shipping and handling).

THE WOMBATS - "The control E.P." available on compact disc and cassette tape. Digging Records 91991-1001-2, 91991-1001-4.
Released June 1994.

TRACK LISTING: I'm in control, My my (acoustic), Sexy world (acoustic), I'm in control (acoustic)

This 4-song CD was the first release by The Wombats. "The control E.P." marked a transitional period in the development of the band. It documents their metamorphosis from an "acoutic" to "electric." The album contains three acoustic-based songs and an alternate electric version of the title track. Kevin Giragosian sang lead and backing vocals and played six and twelve-string guitars; Kegham Giragosian played congas, bongos, an array of other percussion instruments and sang backing vocals; Richard Guzzo
played electric bass and sang backing vocals.

The production is clean, crisp and uncluttered on this short but sweet introduction to the world of The Wombats clever, intellegent pop rock.

Background:

Kevin Giragosian an accomplished singer/songwriter/guitarist – has been a prominent figure on the Chicago live music circuit for over 20 years – most known for his power-pop band THE WOMBATS. Over the years, his songs have been aired on various Chicago area commercial and college radio stations including WXRT and Q101. His love of vocal harmony, early-American rockabilly artists and British Invasion bands brought him to create a unique musical act that has virtually become an overnight success. The Neverly Brothers are rounded out by the formidable rhythm section of Craig Gigstad on upright bass fiddle and Kegham Giragosian on minimalist stand-up drum kit. Both Kegham and Craig are also veterans of the Chicago music scene – Kegham as the Drummer for THE WOMBATS and Craig as bassist for various bands over the years. They are both versatile musicians equally skilled as singers as they are as instrumentalists.

The Neverly Brothers bridge the gap between 50s rockabilly and early 60s British invasion as they take you on a retro-sonic express train ride from Bowling Green, Kentucky to Liverpool, England…and back!
Musical Description:
The Neverly Brothers are not an “oldies cover band,” nor are they a tribute act. They are a very unique and exciting retro-sonic concept…AND ABOVE ALL THEY ARE TRUE ENTERTAINERS! Their enthusiastic stage show will transport you back in time on a virtual tour of one of the most exciting unexplored phases in rock history: the transition from its American Rockabilly roots to the British Invasion. Their song sequence & selection, accompanied by narrative historical footnotes, will illustrate how the music and energy of the 1950s American Rockabilly pioneers set the stage for the adventurous young bands of the British Invasion movement. Their repertoire consists of show-stopping renditions of early hits by The Everly Brothers, Buddy Holly, Carl Perkins, The Beatles, The Kinks, The Rolling Stones and many other artists who shaped rock n' roll during the years 1955 through 1965.
